Library
The Central Library, BCKV, housed in a very spacious building (planned area 7342 sq.m. of which built up area is 5557 sq.rn), with its architectural beauty is located at Mohanpur (main campus).

The Central library has a collection of 69460 books, 350 Indian Standards and specifications 2600 theses and dissertations, 24368 back volumes of periodicals, 208 current journals (Foreign and Indian), 125 non-book materials and 175 e-documents. Central library is situated at the head of the Viswavidyalaya, as the nerve center of academic, extension and research activities of its about 1552 registered users, comprising 864 U.G. & P.G. students, 243 Research Scholars, 220 teachers, 225 non-teaching staff including officers and other unregistered users from other universities. The average visitor of the library is 200 per day.

CentraI Library offers automated lending facility, reference service, book bank facility, GD ROM database service, photocopying services, email and internet services. OPAC, audio-visual, inter-library loan services and consuLtancy services are also available.

Central Library has created its in-house databases of books, serials (selective way), theses and dissertations, using CDS/ISIS, WINJISIS & SOUL. While creating databases, Central Library has adopted certain criteria for retro conversion for backlog documents. LAN within the Central Library is available. Networking between the Central Library and faculties of the Viswavidyalaya will be operational very soon.

The Library services offered by 9 professionals and 7 semi-professionals with the assistance from 14 non-professionals have been appreciated. For effective utility of computer systems available for housekeeping operations arid library services, Viswavidyalaya administration are deputing the professionals and other library staff/employees to various long and short term training programmes being organized by various agencies Central Library is giving work orientation training to U.G (refreshers) students. The faculty members are being offered hands-on training in accessing CD ROM Databases.

This Central Library, BGKV is considered as one of the best libraries of agriculture and allied sciences in the country.
